I fully agree with your point here about TV being narcissistic! I find this especially the case with network TV dramas and Netflix original series. I suggest that you take a deeper dive into some of what Apple TV+ has to offer. The characters are deeper, more nuanced, and the stories are often more expansive and experimental.
